With a degree in Microbiology from the University of Iowa, I’ve spent nearly 10 years growing my career in the pathology department, taking on a variety of roles along the way. I’ve always appreciated the teamwork and collaboration that go into every patient diagnosis, but I’m excited to have found my place as a Histotechnician in the HRL. What I love most about histology is the artistry and science combined—the wide range of techniques and stains that reveal the hidden details of cells, especially those that highlight infectious organisms.

When I’m not in the lab, you’ll likely find me curled up with a good book (and a cat on my lap), hunting for treasures while thrifting, or adventuring through Iowa’s beautiful parks with my husband and toddler.
