Introduction and Research

As a Research Assistant in the Comparative Pathology Lab and Histology Research Laboratory, I process tissue for paraffin embedding and then section the tissue with a microtome to create slides. I have previously worked and managed labs here at the University of Iowa with research focus on the genetics of bleeding and thrombotic disorders, phase I prostate cancer clinical trials, and investigating the role of maternal extracellular vesicles (EVs) in childhood obesity. Outside the lab I have participated in and coached many different sports and enjoy working with power tools.
